The Panel on Gamma and Electron irradiation known as the Panel, is a group of experts with diverse interests in irradiation processing.
It is NOT a trade association. Its membership comprises both suppliers and users of irradiated products and radiation services, regulatory bodies and academia.
It provides members with the opportunity to meet and discuss topics covering radiation processing and to influence events and expert opinion.
How do members contribute?
Meetings twice a year, at which members manage the general business of the Panel activities and discuss output from the Workng Groups and matters relating to all aspects of electron beam and gamma radiation processing .
Specialist Panel Working Groups, currently, in the fields of Microbiology, Food Irradiation, and Dosimetry meet as required by the level of activity. They discuss topics in depth, produce publications for peer reviewed scientific journals, write guidance notes for publication on the Panel Website and contribute to the development of international standards and educational literature by attending working groups in the international arena.
Expert representative duties
Members with appropriate qualifications and experience represent The Irradiation Panel at meetings and working groups such as ISO, BSI, CEN and IAEA.
