The Panel’s vision is to be the go-to body of Subject Matter Experts (SME) that supports the development and progress of radiation processing, remaining accessible to address challenges in an agile and practical manner.

Building a Global Network
The Panel is actively expanding its network and visibility by establishing liaisons with key international institutions,—including partners in the pharmaceutical sector.We are actively building the Panel’s profile through virtual events, sharing outputs, and deepening partnerships with organizations that share common interests.
Supporting Standards and Regulation
A core focus of the Panel is advancing the development and adoption of appropriate standards. We engage with regulatory authorities and industry bodies to ensure that new technologies and modern approaches are reflected in evolving guidance. As a registered stakeholder with the European Medicines Agency, we are preparing to contribute to updates to Annex 12 and to support alignment across the sector. We also maintain active dialogue with Notified Bodies, such as the MHRA, to strengthen regulatory understanding and consistency.
Promoting Technology and Innovation
The Panel promotes the adoption of accelerator-based radiation technologies and emerging innovations by providing high-level technical overviews, expert insight, and guidance on microbiology as it relates to irradiation, to industry, regulators, and other stakeholders.
Education, Training, and Awareness
We deliver presentations and learning sessions on key topics including modeling, parametric release, and microbiological methods. Through the continual development of new and updated training materials by the Education and Training Working Group, these activities support professional development and help build broader understanding of radiation processing technologies.
Continual Evolution
To continually support the evolving radiation processing industry, the Panel has strengthened its governance and is enhancing member engagement through refreshed meeting formats and regular feedback. We continually align priorities, review our project pipeline, explore funding opportunities, and improve collaboration tools to deliver our program effectively.
